David (Dave) E. Porwoll, AIA, LEED AP Principal Dave Porwoll is a founding principal of studioTEN architects. Dave leads many of the firm's technically demanding projects, specializing in buildings for the arts, education, and healthcare. Over his many years of practice, Dave has skillfully engaged client representatives and team members in exploring program needs and shaping innovative solutions. Dave is known for his enduring, context-specific design sensibility. Dave is LEED certified, and leads the firm's quality control efforts, reviewing all project documents produced in the office. Dave helps everyone in the office stay grounded. “I think that the act of making a building should be as aesthetically pleasing as the building itself. Just like any other major effort in our lives, good design is a challenge - I just don't think it has to be an unhappy challenge. In fact, I think we've learned over the years that the best designs come from a trusting, collaborative process where everyone's best offerings continue to push the envelope of what is possible.” Education:
